Don’t Get Bingo Scammed

If you are thinking of playing online bingo, it is important to take the proper steps to make sure that you are on a legitimate site and not about to become a victim of an elaborate scam.  Anytime you have to enter your personal information, there is always a chance that it could wind up in the hands of the wrong people.  However, there are steps you can take in order to protect yourself against scams while still having a good time and hopefully winning some money in the progress.

Before depositing any money with a bingo site, be sure to do an investigation into the site that you are considering.  Sometimes there is a company that is actually behind the site and the larger they are, the more respectable they are.  In fact, there are some companies that are actually traded on the London stock exchange.  Players should always look at the “about us” button and find out the history and stability of any online gaming site before proceeding to play.

Another way to make sure that a site is on the up and up is by looking for a small yellow lock in the lower right hand corner of the window when processing a transaction.  This means that when you deposit or withdraw money, your personal information remains safe and secure.

Finally, any trustworthy site such as Betfred Bingo, Paddy Power Bingo and Littlewoods Bingo is also licensed and regulated by the government of the country in which it is based.  If there is any concern that a license may be out of date, players can check the website of the licensing authority to which sites have been approved.   If you can’t find any information about a site, then the chances are that you have landed on one that is illegal.

Live bingo is another great way to enjoy bingo. How about booking one of the cheap hotels in Blackpool and sampling the many bingo halls and bingo arcades in the popular north west seaside resort.

Of course, you can also visit sites such as Bingo Directory for a list of trustworthy bingo sites on which to play.

Cash Strapped Gala Bingo Potential Takeover Target

The land based UK bingo world was shocked this week with news regarding a posible takeover of Gala Bingo. According to Reuters, the American private equity company Apollo see  Gala Bingo as a possible target and are planning to make  an offer of £250million for a 50% share of the company.  Gala Coral are a prime target as they are struggling to restructure their business to better manage their whopping £2.6billion debt. There are other offers on the table including one from the junior lenders to the group, and another from the Blackstone group

Reports suggest that Gala will make a decision  in the New Year. Many will follow the takeover story with great interest following Gala’s last year of financial concerns and investment write-offs. The company is still the UK’s leading retail bingo chain in terms of venues, so lets hope the company is able to keep as many of them open as possible, as the loss to the UK’s bingo players would be massive.

Online Bingo Boom Over?

Are we seeing the first signs of the end of the bingo boom? Well some suggest that perhapswe are with the news that Interactive Playnet, which powered games such as Rainbow Bingo, Exotic Bingo, Fun Bingo, Comedy Bingo and a few others, has this week ceased all of its operations leaving not only their players but also licensees and affiliates out in the cold!

There is no doubt that in the UK, online bingo is perhaps over saturated, so the smaller companies or those perhaps trying to enter the industry are going to struggle. The fact or the matter though is that most of the major names are still reporting strong growth and looking to even more growth in the next few years in countries such as Spain & Italy.

Don’t panic! In our opinion the bingo boom is far from over.
